On April 29, Dr. Niels Peter Thomas, President of Springer Nature’s Global Book Business, along with Li Yan, Director of Books in China, Xie Ran , Editor of Education Books in East Asia, Cui Lili , Senior Licensing Manager, and Ran Lu, Customer Manager, visited the Smart Learning Institute at Beijing Normal University. They held talks with Huang Ronghuai, Dean of the Institute, Zhang Dingwen, Assistant Dean, Yao Youjie, Director of the Education Robot Engineering Center, Wang Huanhuan, Assistant Researcher, and Da Ting, a postdoctoral fellow.
Dr. Thomas and his team introduced the AI tools, databases, and services developed by Springer and discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence and education. Dr. Thomas expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation with the Institute in the future through Springer’s AI products and services. Professor Huang Ronghuai expressed his anticipation for future collaboration with Springer in areas such as textbook format and resource production, and suggested co-hosting relevant international seminars with domestic publishers to expand more opportunities for cooperation.
The Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University and Springer Nature have jointly edited two book series, Lecture Notes in Educational Technology and Smart Computing and Intelligence, as well as two international journals, Smart Learning Environments and Journal of Computers in Education. All have been included in key databases such as SCOPUS and SCImago, and have received widespread attention and high recognition in the academic community.
