Hong Kong — Conduct Academic Exchanges and Cooperation to Drive the Development of Intelligent Education

On July 18th, Prof. HUANG Ronghuai and his delegation visited the Education University of Hong Kong, and met with Prof. JIANG Shaoxiang and Ir Daniel LAI, Programme Director of CoolThink@JC and Justice of the Peace (JPs). They held in-depth discussions on topics related to enhancing teachers’ computational thinking education skills in Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong, China, and the development of STEM education. They also exchanged views on the organization of the International Conference on Computational Thinking Education and STEM Education (CTE – STEAM 2024) .

The City University of Hong Kong

On the morning of July 19, 2023, Prof. HUANG Ronghuai and his team visited Prof. Horace Ho-shing IP, Executive Vice President of City University of Hong Kong, and his team in the Centre for Innovative Applications of Internet and Multimedia Technologies. The two sides had an in-depth dialogue on the application of virtual reality, metaverse and other technologies in education, and reached a preliminary consensus on conducting joint research on how to use virtual reality and digital human technology to assist people with learning disabilities in knowledge learning.

The University of Hong Kong

On the afternoon of July 19, Prof. HUANG Ronghuai had a meeting with Prof. LAW, Nancy W. Y., Associate Dean of the Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong.

Prof. HUANG shared the current information about the Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University, National Engineering Laboratory for Cyberlearning and Intelligent Technology, UNESCO Chair on Artificial Intelligence in Education. Prof. LAW, Nancy W. Y. introduced the research progress, stage results and future plans of the University of Hong Kong in the fields of learning environment, learning design, learning analysis and digital literacy. The two sides agreed that they would continue to conduct multi-level academic exchanges and cooperation in smart learning, artificial intelligence and education in the future.
